Deleting your data

Last updated 5 October 2026

You can delete your data from Cosmic Social at any time. This page explains how, what goes, and how long it takes.

Disconnect one social account

In Cosmic Social, open the client, find the connected account and choose Disconnect. This deletes the stored access and refresh tokens for that account immediately, and we stop publishing to it.

Posts already published to that account stay on the platform — they belong to the account, not to us. Delete them there if you want them gone.

You can also revoke our access from the platform’s own settings, without asking us:

Revoking there stops publishing straight away, and we delete the tokens the next time we find them rejected.

Delete one client

Open the client and choose Delete. This removes the client, its brand information, its posting history and every connected account for it at once, and its images, voiceovers and uploads from our file storage within two days. It cannot be undone. If you only want it to stop posting, pause it instead.

Delete your whole account

As the account’s owner, open Settings, then Account, and choose Delete account. Or email privacy@usecosmicsocial.com from the address you signed up with, asking us to delete it; we will confirm within 3 business days. Either way the deletion is complete within 30 days.

We delete:

  • your account and sign-in details;
  • every client you manage, with their brand information and settings;
  • all access tokens for connected social accounts;
  • generated drafts, approvals, published post records and performance data;
  • uploaded media, and the images and voiceovers generated for you;
  • your notification and email preferences.

We keep, for as long as the law requires:

  • invoices and payment records, for tax purposes;
  • a record of which version of the terms of service and privacy policy you accepted, when, and with which email address — the evidence of what you agreed to;
  • a minimal record that the account existed and was deleted, so we can answer questions about the deletion itself.

Our database backups are kept for at most 30 days, so a deleted record can survive in one for up to 30 days after it is deleted.

What deleting cannot reach. Copies our providers already hold are kept for their own periods — up to 30 days at Anthropic (2 years if flagged for a policy violation), 55 days at Google, 30 days at Resend. Finished videos stay on Shotstack’s servers, and we cannot currently delete them there. Your customer record at Stripe is kept as a billing record. The full list is in the privacy policy.

If you were invited as an approver

If you hold a login only to approve posts for a business, the agency that invited you can remove you from the client at any time, which deletes your assignment. To delete the login itself, email privacy@usecosmicsocial.com from the address you were invited with.

TikTok and Google data

The data we hold from these platforms is the account identifier, the account name, the access tokens, the identifiers of posts we published, and the public performance metrics for those posts. All of it is deleted by any of the routes above — disconnecting the account, deleting the client, or deleting your account.
